Probably the most expensive and useless mod I’ve done to my car so far. But I did it. I replaced my factory GT hood with a Mach 1 Hood and shaker system. The Shaker was a gift so it wasn’t really THAT expensive.

You’re gonna have a hard time fitting that stuff to a Fiat 500, but I await the results.

So when are you going to be putting the Terminator IRS on your Mustang?

I mean it’s not bad looking but is the shaker hooked into the air box?

Sharp car.

My ideal SN95 is a Bullitt modded to have a shaker hood. They’re just so darn cool.

Such a good looking hood, my second favorite behind the Cobra R hood.

Unfortunately, Ive never seen a rustang with a functional hood scoop. Sadly, the Mopars are the same unless you get the Shaker package, but even at that, the functionality is limited. Its ducted all over the place because the air intake isnt on top anymore. Silly design, the truck HEMI has the intake on top, should have just gone with something like that. I thought about doing the truck intake on my Magnum and getting a shaker hood, but they just look bad on the Magnums.

The New Edge 03-04 Had a very functional hood scoop as seen below

1969-70 Mach 1 has functioning.

Also 1971-73 Mach 1 Ram Air Hood scoop

While the Modern ones don’t have them as a factory option, there is an aftermarket that Saleen used on one car as well as just a normal kit you can get for 05-14 as seen here: http://www.americanmuscle.com/cdc-2007-shake…

Ya it wouldn’t look the best on the Magnums but if somehow yo could get the Hellcat Charger front end on your Magnum.......

I wanted to hood scoop the Magnum, but realistically cant find anything that really looks good. Im tempted to possibly do a ‘12 Charger front end on it, and see what could be done to that, but the nose of the Magnum just isnt long enough. Ive seen viper-esque hoods, but they dont do it for me. If I swapped a Challenger front end, that could be cool, but doing any front end swap is like $1500+. Real bummer... Id really just like to run some twin intake, but then you get into the heat output and it gets dicey. The HEMIs arent super hot, but its certainly no itty bitty 4 banger either. At this point, Im certainly just itching to have it back (tomorrow), and get the new seats for it next weekend (possibly friday). The honeycomb grill on mine really helped it, along with the fact that its mostly blacked out...pictures tomorrow....

As for the mustangs, I meant factory options. I dont think Ive seen a new edge 03-04 ever, so Ill give you that one.

Ya they came on the Mach 1 which was the 4.6L DOHC Motor that was kinda the same as the Termi motor but the Termi was Cast Iron as the Mach 1 was aluminum.

Interesting. I do remember being at a show last summer and seeing 3 Termis parked next to each other, black silver and blue I think they were. Super damn loud. If the pony car went back to 2 valves id be more interested.

Intakes need to be redesigned, sticking them in the corner is fine, but its just a puddle vacuum...im even nervous about mine, seeing as I took out the intake resonator for weight savings. Its just a big hole going straight down...

Looks great! The Mach 1 hood is definitely the best on the SN95’s, even if I am a little biased!

How much did the hood set you back if you don't mind me asking? I'm curious since you don't really see those for sale anywhere....

Some Mustang Performance shop in Killeen had taken it off a guy’s cobra. They wanted 500 but I worked them down to 350.

That sounds like a really good deal. Enjoy the Shaker, I love mine! One of the coolest parts on the Mach.
